Chappy Flashback: Our Visit with Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz

Did you know that October is National Manufacturing Month? The whole month of October is dedicated to recognizing and promoting the success of U.S. manufacturers in the global marketplace. During the first Friday of the month manufacturers may open their doors to showcase the potential of modern manufacturing, and help foster an interest in working in manufacturing.

In early October of 2022, we had the pleasure of hosting Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz at our facility. She spoke with Tracy, owner of Chapman Manufacturing, to discuss our process, tool kits, and women in manufacturing. Currently, as of April 12, 2023 according to the U.S. Census Bureau in an article written by Forbes, 12.1 million people work in manufacturing and of that 12.1 million 30% are women (Caldwell, 2023).

We here at Chapman MFG have a diverse team that is made up of 50% women. Everyone on our team works in tandem to make sure all aspects of our production runs smoothly. From the minute our bits are made and our kits are assembled to when they leave our facility, everyone does their part. We are proud of the team we have here at Chapman and appreciate all the hard work they do.

We were overjoyed by the opportunity to host the Lt. Gov. and witness her interest in learning about our work. You can see the original article and video posted by our Local News Station, News Channel 8 here.
