What is the torque range of your bits?

  • Each Chapman bit is designed for use within a specific torque range. Small bits are designed for less torque, large bits are designed for more torque.
  • Our smaller bits - CMS-3,4 & CM-88, 89, 90, etc. - are designed to prevent damage in applications where the screw is more valuable than the bit. When excess torque is applied, our bits are designed to break before marring an irreplaceable screw.
  • Please note that some screws cannot be removed with a screwdriver. Cross-threaded, burred, chipped, varnished screws or screws treated with clear glue (especially on firearms) are near impossible to remove without tapping into the screw or applying heat. If a screw is seated so tightly that the bit starts to bend, stop immediately as additional force will break the bit, mar the piece, or rip off the screw head.

What does your warranty cover?

Chapman prides itself on the quality of our products. Our tools are guaranteed to be as represented and free of defects caused by defective materials or faulty workmanship.

In order to keep open stock part prices reasonable, we cannot offer replacement of tools in use for many years (sometimes 30+) that wear out/break. Our warranty guards against defective materials and faulty workmanship. Tool replacement requires that faulty parts be mailed back to us with proof of purchase within three years. Our warranty does not cover products that are improperly used, abused or altered.

Can I use Chapman bits in other tools?

Sometimes. Chapman tools are all ¼” drive, however, our screwdriver handle, ratchet and extension are non-magnetic and designed to be used with our bits with ear stops.

What is the difference between Torx & Star bits?

Chapman star bits fit Torx screws just as well as Torx bits, but are an overall improved design! More info

Do you make custom bits or tools?

Unfortunately we do not take orders for small quantities (5k min qty) tools with custom specifications. This is because our machinery and equipment are designed and programmed specifically to produce the tools that we make and it requires a large amount of resources and time to manufacture a new tool.

That being said, we do take orders for custom tool sets made up of the tools we already produce, as well as custom labeling. For more information please see our custom sets page here and contact joel@chapmanmfg.com

Do you offer any discounts?

We do offer occasional promo codes to be used on our website, usually around holidays throughout the year. The best way to receive information about our promo codes is to sign up for our newsletter, please sign up on the bottom right corner of any page of our website

For our resale customers, we offer discount levels depending on order quantity. If you are a current or potential Chapman product distributor, please contact Nicole at sales@chapmanmfg.com for more information

Do you have a storefront?

We do not have a retail store and unfortunately are not permitting visitors due to COVID.
