Collection: Bristol Spline & Hex Screwdrivers

BRISTOL & HEX SCREWDRIVERS- Bristol Wrench screwdrivers have replaceable Bristol or hex bits. It’s retained by a set-screw in the recess of a precision-machined bushing that’s broached to the unique size and shape of the bit. The handle is specifically designed with a size and shape proportional to the size of the Bristol or hex bit and Bristol screw or hex fastener it fits. This allows the user the necessary feel to properly apply required torque.

BRISTOL SPLINE DRIVE- Pioneered by Bristol Wrench, the multiple spline drive system is the superior method to transmit torque from Bristol driver to Bristol screw. Nearly 100% of wrenching force is applied at right angles to the load bearing spline surfaces of the socket. This reduces cam-out, socket reaming and rounding of tools. Other drive systems dissipate a significant amount of force into radial thrust, tending to expand the socket rather than tighten the screw. Bristol flute tools fit Bristol spline screws only. Depending on the size of the Bristol tool and screw, they have either 4 splines or 6 splines. Bristol tools are also available in Chapman Bristol Spline Screwdriver bits and the #7341 Chapman MFG Bristol Spline screwdriver bit kit.
